bruAPP Backup Appliance Customizable Items
The bruAPP Backup Appliance can be customized to meet the specific needs of your organization. From the number of backup clients to the size of the RAID array, the items you choose will make the bruAPP Backup Appliance your most customized hardware backup solution.
Available Hard Disk Drives
The bruAPP Backup Appliance Seagate hard drive options vary based on the chassis option chosen. The tower and 1U rackmount chassis' have a maximum of four (4) hard drive bays for a maximum capacity of 4TB each. The 2U rackmount unit has 12 hard drive bays for a maximum capacity of 12TB (10.0 TB with RAID5).
When purchasing the bruAPP Backup Appliance, you are not required to fill all of the hard drive bays. You may purchase a 2U chassis with only four (4) 750GB hard drives so that as your backup needs increase you may obtain additional 750GB hard drives†.

ATTO® Technology Host Bus Adapters (HBA's)
All bruAPP Backup Appliance's ship with one (1) ATTO Technology SAS HBA. You may opt to
have a Fibre-Channel or SCSI HBA† to be shipped in your bruAPP instead of the ATTO SAS HBA.
Additionally, if your backup needs change and you need to change the HBA, you may contact BRU Sales for pricing of upgrading the hardware† of your bruAPP Backup Appliance.
Note: When using an HBA of any kind inside of the bruAPP, the internal RAID array cannot be used as a SAN device. The bruAPP Backup Appliance is a toaster unit in that the only thing that it does is perform backup and restore operations to the internal disk RAID or to an externally attached tape device through SCSI, Fibre-Channel, or SAS connectivity. It cannot be used as a storage server in any way.
* This ATTO HBA requires a PCIe port inside of the bruAPP. Not all systems will support this connectivity type.

TOLIS Group can provide tape hardware at any time for your bruAPP Backup Appliance. If you're already a bruAPP customer and would like to add a tape device or if you're just looking to obtain a tape device then you can choose from any of the following models.

Tape Media
Have a Sony, Tandberg Data or Quantum LTO/DAT tape device? No problem!
TOLIS Group also has competitive pricing on LTO and DAT media for any compatible LTO or DAT tape drive. Due to frequent fluctuation in prices, please contact BRU Sales to obtain the most up-to-date prices on tape media for your tape device.

No two bruAPP installations are alike and for that reason, should you require a specific number of bruAPP Backup Appliance
client licenses, please contact BRU Sales. Our sales
