bruAPP Backup Appliance D2T SCSI Models & Pricing

All BRU Server SCSI hardware bundles include new (not gray market or refurbished) tape devices, ATTO Technology® host bus adapters (HBA), all required cables and BRU Server software for the desired OS on which the software will be used.

All technical support for the bundled hardware is provided by TOLIS Group Technical Support directly, thereby eliminating the need for the consumer to contact ATTO Technologies for the HBA, TOLIS Group Technical Support for the BRU Server software and the tape manufacturer for the tape device. Instead, one phone call to TOLIS Group Technical Support for all components, when purchased as a bundle, provides you with technical support for all of the purchased hardware and software.

SCSI Connection Type

All TOLIS Group SCSI tape drives and ATTO Technology SCSI HBAs use Ultra320 LVD SCSI.

TOLIS Group LTO drives use an Ultra320 LVD MD68 SCSI connection. This means that the SCSI cable used is Ultra320 LVD/SE VHDCI to a SCSI-3 Ultra320 LVD MD68.

LTO-5 Note

LTO tape technology is no longer manufactuered in SCSI format starting with LTO-5 tape drives. This means that the last SCSI LTO drive that can be purchased is LTO-4. LTO-5 and later tape technology is only manufactuered in Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Fibre Channel (FC). Please see our SAS and Fibre Channel bundles for LTO-5 and newer tape technology.

This unit requires the connection of a directly connected tape device in order to be able to perform backup operations. bruAPP Backup Appliances cannot perform backups to remote machine tape devices (tape devices not attached directly to the bruAPP).

Special Notes

* Cables Excluded: Fibre Channel (FC) bundles do not include FC cables due to the many types and possible adapter (SFP/transceiver) requirements. FC adapters such as SFP, SFP+, transceivers, mini-GBIC, or other adapters/converters are not included in the hardware bundle.
** PCIe Slot Requirements: A PCIe x8 (8-lane) slot is required to obtain full 6Gb/second transfer speed. A PCIe x4 (4-lane) slot is supported at reduced performance. No change in tape write or read speed will be seen in either case.
† Rack Installation Kit: Includes rails to support installation in a standard 19"-wide four post rack. Please verify the available depth against the unit measurements. If your installation requires custom rails, please contact your rack manufacturer for such rails. If you are installing the unit in a two post TELCO-style rack (only supported on with the TGL1800 and TGL2240 units - putting the TGL4480 or TGL8960 into a TELCO-style rack will void the warranty), you must use a center-supported full shelf to support each unit. Also, units should not be stacked on top of one another as their chassis are not designed to support additional weight.
