bruAPP Backup Appliance D2D Models & PricingAll BRU Server SAS hardware bundles include new (not gray market or refurbished) tape devices, ATTO Technology® host bus adapters (HBA), all required cables and BRU Server software for the desired OS on which the software will be used. All technical support for the bundled hardware is provided by TOLIS Group Technical Support directly, thereby eliminating the need for the consumer to contact ATTO Technologies for the HBA, TOLIS Group Technical Support for the BRU Server software and the manufacturer for the tape device. Instead, one phone call to TOLIS Group Technical Support for all components, when purchased as a bundle, provides you with technical support for all of the purchased hardware and software. Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Connection TypeAll TOLIS Group SAS tape drives and ATTO Technology SAS HBAs use a mini-SAS SFF-8088 connection. The LTO-4 tape drives use a 3 Gb/s SAS speed, while the LTO-5 SAS speeds are 6 Gb/s. The ATTO Technology H680 supports up to eight (8) devices, each with a dedicated 6Gb/s speed, while the HBA supports up to 256 grand-total end devices. Since the maximum speed of an LTO-4 half-height tape drive is 80 MB/s (LTO-4 full-height drives have a top speed of 120 MB/s) and LTO-5 tape drives, full-height and half-height) have a top speed of 140 MB/s, the 6 Gb/s (768 MB/s) connection speed will not actually be seen by any current tape technology.
