bruAPP Supported Attached Tape DevicesFollowing is a small sampling of tape drives and libraries (in alphabetical order by manufacturer) that have been tested/approved for use on bruAPP Backup Appliances as external tape devices connected through the ATTO HBA that is shipped inside of the bruAPP. Quantum LTO NoticeAs of November 1, 2010, all Quantum LTO-4 "Original Drive" SAS drives (view picture) remain unsupported by TOLIS Group, Inc. However, all Quantum LTO-4 SAS "Model B" drives (view picture) are now supported by TOLIS Group with the use of all BRU products. View the drives side-by-side. It is not possible for any BRU products to properly function with the Quantum LTO-4 SAS "Original Drive". There is nothing that TOLIS Group can do to resolve issues with this drive under Mac OS X. You must contact your hardware provider and request that they exchange it for a Quantum "Model B" LTO-4 drive, replace it with a different manufacturer's LTO-4 device, or upgrade to a any manufacturers LTO-5 tape drive.

Quantum SuperLoader 3Due to SCSI I/O compatibillity issues, the Quantum SuperLoader 3 libraries are not supported as a attached library for use with the bruAPP Backup Appliance at this time. Device Not Listed?For information about tape drives or libraries not listed, please contact: . 1 — Internal and external versions of these drives are supported. HP Tape Drive Note: Older HP LTO-1 Drives are not compatible with BRU Server running on the bruAPP. This is an HP Firmware issue that HP has indicated will not be fixed. Therefore, the SureStore 215 and 230 drives are not compatible with the bruAPP under any circumstances. The newer LTO-1 Ultrium 232 and 248 units are compatible. 2 - Only the SCSI version of this device has been tested. Other versions have not been tested for bruAPP Backup Appliance support, although they are expected to work. |
