In the example pictured above, client systems on the network in New York push their data up to the local BRU Server system. The BRU Server system located in New York can also serve as a client system, and, in this example, then pushes its data over the Internet to another, remote BRU Server system located in Chicago.

The copy of data transferred over the Internet to Chicago can be maintained on a disk stage on that system, or can be up-staged to tape for an even higher level of overall data availability.
