NEW BRU-PRO™ 2.0 WINDOWS CLIENT SOFTWARE COMPLETES UBIQUITOUS DATA PROTECTION ON CLIENT/SERVER NETWORKS

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona - January 2, 2003 - The TOLIS Group, Inc., a Talented Organization Leveraging Intelligent Solutions, today announces BRU-Pro 2.0 data backup and recovery support of all Microsoft Windows system clients including: 98, 98se, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP, including personal, professional and advanced server editions. The updated and expanded Windows platform support, the recent addition of the MAC OS X client software, and the breadth of BRU-Pro 2.0 Unix agents allow data protection on virtually any client/server networked system topology.

The new Windows agent supplants the existing BRU-Pro 2.0 Windows agent and expands platform coverage to now include systems running XP and 2000. Fully compliant with Microsoft's latest security settings, the Windows agent provides: an easy-to-use, intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface), and fully authenticated connectivity for secure communications between the BRU-Pro 2.0 server and each Windows client. This Windows client/server communication channel requires only a single port for all communications, compared to competitive offerings that can require as many as 250 active ports. The backup and recovery of system registry data is user-selected.

BRU-Pro 2.0 is the data protection solution that audits each and every bit of data backed-up and restored to deliver industry reliability and accuracy leadership. BRU-Pro 2.0 is implemented on a reliable Linux tape server (x86, ia64, PPC) to support TOLIS service mark of Backup You Can Trust℠.

The new Windows agents share common characteristics with the Unix and Mac OS X BRU-Pro 2.0 client software. The agents require less than 5 MB of disk capacity on each client system, and deliver client-side data compression and encryption. Fully authenticated communication is achieved via a 512-byte public-private key pair exchange. And because of each agents low overhead characteristics and high performance capability, backup operations are performed unnoticed on most newer high performance systems. The agents may be tuned for optimal throughput on slower systems.

The new Windows client software is immediately available for purchase, and is available for evaluation on TOLIS ftp site. TOLIS prices all agents the same, regardless of platform type. A single Windows seat is priced at $99, and volume price breaks are available. BRU-Pro 2.0 users can upgrade to the new Windows client software without charge.
